Introduction
The two maps compare the layout of Riverside Park in 2000 and after its redevelopment in 2025.
Overview
Overall, the park became more developed and visitor-friendly over the period.
The most noticeable changes were the addition of several leisure facilities, the enlargement of the car park, and the introduction of new paths for visitors.
Body Paragraph 1
In 2000, the northern part of the park was mainly open and natural, with an open grass area on the western side and woodland to the east.
By 2025, the grass area had been replaced by a visitor centre, while a café had been built near the river on the opposite side.
In addition, a short cycle path was introduced in the northern section of the park.
Body Paragraph 2
There were also several changes in the southern half of the park.
The old playground was upgraded into a modern play area, and part of the woodland was converted into a wetland garden.
The small car park in the south-east corner was enlarged, while the original entrance remained in the south-west.
A new path was also added across the park, making the main facilities easier to reach.

3. Using the wrong tense
If the maps show past and present changes, you need to control your tenses carefully.

4. Giving opinions or explanations
IELTS Writing Task 1 is not asking for your opinion.
